Train the Trainer New Training Initiative for Jacob's Bakery

Jacob’s has launched a new training initiative to improve safety, efficiency and quality at its Aintree site, thanks to the Industrial Technology System’s (ITS) course Train the Trainer. Phil Bowness, Margie McGowan and Paul Pryor have gained the NVQ unit Enable Individual Learning Through Coaching, delivered by ITS’ Training Manager Alan Benbow, which has triggered a structured training process at the company, driven by People Manager Grahame Thompson.

Grahame explains “We have now completed a further four Train the Trainer courses on site, which are providing our work-based trainers and managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver the best learning solutions possible to all our operational staff. Learners from other United Biscuits’ plants have also been included on these courses.”

The Train the Trainer courses were delivered by Alan Benbow of Industrial Technology Systems Ltd (ITS). Alan has ten years' experience of delivering work-based training solutions for manufacturing industries, including pharmaceutical suppliers. The courses exceeded United Biscuits’ needs. The Train the Trainer course and work-based assessment involves using coaching as a way of encouraging individual learning, and helping individuals to use their learning in the workplace.
