Just in case, here are a few of the more frequently asked questions and their respective answers:
What industries does ITS provide automation solutions for?
ITS specialises in providing automation solutions for three primary vertical markets, namely Life Sciences, Chemical Manufacturing, and Power and Energy. However, we provide services for a variety of industries including transportation, food and beverage, specialist options, and more.
What types of technologies does ITS offer?
ITS offers a range of control systems built on PLC, DCS, clustered or redundant server architecture, and products featuring SCADA capabilities. These systems are versatile, capable of handling both batch and continuous processing, and they also encompass Management Information systems, MES, as well as data analysis, manipulation, and visualisation. Furthermore, they include real-time data links for information and historian needs.
What is Validation and why is it important?
In a regulatory context, validation entails the verification of the validity and accuracy of a given system. Therefore, Computer System Validation (CSV) is the process of confirming that a computer system functions as intended under all circumstances, including normal operations and error scenarios. The same principle applies to Equipment or Process Validation – ensuring it operates as required in all situations. This assurance is typically established through comprehensive documentation and rigorous "verification testing," ensuring that the system we deliver meets your requirements under various conditions.
How does ITS help businesses improve their operations?
In most cases, a system's function involves collecting data and utilizing that data to initiate a change. For instance, a control system may adjust operating parameters automatically to maintain production within specified limits, thereby preventing the production of substandard products. Alternatively, an information system might alert operational staff to issues or even halt a potentially risky process. This risk could be related to product quality or safety. Systems may encompass functions such as monitoring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, and quality while alerting staff, or they could include emergency shutdown and Fire & Gas systems designed to avert unsafe events.
Does ITS offer customised solutions for clients?
Absolutely. At ITS, we prioritise the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products whenever feasible. This approach ensures that you have options for future changes. Our expertise, honed over 30+ years, lies in assembling these COTS products in a manner that is both innovative and customised to your unique requirements. We emphasise robust solutions – our track record of delivering systems that you operate smoothly, without the need for continuous fixes, is the reason we've thrived for over three decades.
Does ITS provide ongoing support after implementation?
A significant component of our business revolves around what we refer to as SLAs (Service Level Agreements). These SLAs can be tailored to your operational hours, whether it's Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM or around-the-clock service, 24/7/365, with an agreed-upon Call Response time. We offer the option of placing every system we deliver on an SLA contract, and in a unique offering, we extend SLAs to systems from other providers following an inspection visit.
